Novel acoustic nonwovens guarantee improved fire protection

The competence and continuous development at J.H. Ziegler increases customer benefits by improving the performance and adding value. Our success shows that the most modern production processes and customised solutions fulfil common goals.

Ziegler's range of needled nonwovens, laminated nonwovens, wadding materials and foam/nonwoven composites cover both traditional as well as new and unusual application fields.

The automotive industry is becoming increasing important to J.H. Ziegler. The company specialises in haptic and seatapplications as well as acoustic absorbers in the market segment automobile interiors and is one of the leading suppliers of nonwoven-based solutions. We will use the opportunity presented by the Interauto 2006 in Cologne (14 - 16 November 2006) to exhibit examples of innovative solutions:

Improved seating

The seats are a key factor with respect to the comfort in an automobile. J.H. Ziegler has thus developed solutions to increase the climatic effectiveness, a more pleasant first impression on sitting down and improved haptics. However, the antistatic effect, the reduction of emissions and the avoidance of pathogens are also the target of Ziegler's developmental interests. A further focal point is the development of new backing materials for cost-optimised laminating processes.

Improved hearing

In the field of acoustic damping nonwovens, J.H. Ziegler has focused on reducing weight, emissions, and odours as well as on improving the recyclability. New requirements to comply with particularly stringent fire standards have been implemented to improve passenger protection. The developed virgin-fibre nonwovens also offer excellent processability owing to their high uniformity and ultrasonic weldability. The use of primary raw materials allows optimum utilisation of the available space in the vehicle while taking account of the acoustic goal.

Everything from one source

The J.H. Ziegler range is supplemented by cut pieces produced to customer specifications on a CAD-controlled cutter or a modern beam cutting press. This clearly simplifies the supplier chain and also significantly lowers the system costs.

Interaction with customers

This year, J.H. Ziegler opened a new production site in the heart of the automobile centre in Györ/Bratislava. Many East European customers will be delivered from here.

With their high levels of commitment and experience, J.H. Ziegler's team provide a comprehensive service from design to delivery.
